The scattering of Yisrael is not merely a historical lament, a tale of exile and diaspora to be recounted with sorrow. It is a deliberate fracturing, a consequence of disobedience, *and* a necessary precursor to restoration. For too long, we have focused on the grand, sweeping promises of ingathering, overlooking the foundational work that must precede it: the rebuilding of community, the mending of fractured relationships, the resurrection of *kehillah* among the scattered remnants of Yaacob. The nations may posture and scheme – Edom tightening its grip through financial warfare and deceit, as the headlines proclaim – but their power is ultimately limited. Yahuah’s purposes will prevail, and His restoration will begin, not from centralized power, but from the ground up, from the rebuilding of the ruined heaps (Ezra 9:10).
