The Broken Cisterns of Dependence

The reports flow in, a chorus of lament echoing the ancient warnings. Edom trembles, its foundations crumbling as Yahuah executes judgment (Obadiah 1:10-14). Bahrain wails, another pillar of the modern Babylon fracturing. And within the land set apart for Yisrael, the hand of power consolidates, weaving a tapestry of manufactured consent. But beneath these surface disturbances lies a deeper current, a spiritual drought manifesting in physical vulnerability. We, the covenant people of Yaacob, have grown accustomed to broken cisterns, relying on systems that hold no water.

For generations, we have outsourced our sustenance, our provision, to those who do not acknowledge Yahuah. The infiltration of foreign interests into the very soil of the land – as reported regarding Texas – is not merely an economic issue. It is a symptom of a spiritual disease: a severing from the Source of Living Waters (Jeremiah 2:13). This dependence, this trust in the arm of flesh, has left us parched and exposed. We have forgotten the wisdom of our ancestors, who understood the importance of securing their own wells, of harvesting the rain, of being stewards of the land’s bounty.
