The Broken Cisterns of Dependence

Hear this, people of Yisrael. The signs are multiplying, aren’t they? Edom writhes in its final death throes, its puppets falling like dry leaves. Babylon schemes to bind Yisrael with cords of debt, infiltrating even the strongholds of our brethren in the diaspora. Netanyahu tightens his grip, building a house of sand upon a foundation of manufactured consent. These are not isolated incidents. They are the tremors preceding a great shaking. Yahuah is exposing the broken cisterns upon which we have relied.

For too long, we have turned to the nations for sustenance, for security, for even the most basic necessities. We have drunk from their polluted wells, accepting their terms, becoming entangled in their systems. Jeremiah 2:13 declares, “For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns, such as can hold no water.”

This dependence is a spiritual weakness, a denial of Yahuah’s provision. He promised to bless Yisrael with abundance, to give us dominion over the land, but we have allowed others to control the very sources of life.

The Promise of Living Waters

But Yahuah is a God of restoration. Even in judgment, He offers a path forward. Ezekiel 36:24-28 speaks clearly. He will gather us from the nations, cleanse us from our filth, give us new hearts and spirits, and cause the land to yield its increase. This is not merely a spiritual promise; it is a promise of tangible provision.

Consider this: the land of Yisrael is blessed with underground aquifers, with potential for rainwater harvesting, with the ingenuity to purify and conserve. Yet, we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, reliant on foreign entities for a resource Yahuah has already placed within our reach.

This is not to say we reject all interaction with the nations. But we must prioritize self-sufficiency, especially in matters of essential sustenance. Water is life. Control of the water supply is control of the people.

Preparing for the Narrow Way

The midpoint of Daniel’s 70th week draws near. The prince of iron and clay will break the covenant, and a time of Yaacob’s trouble will descend. This will not be a time for comfortable dependence. It will be a time for resilience, for resourcefulness, for practical preparedness.

This means more than stockpiling food. It means securing access to clean water. Every household, every community should be exploring options for water independence. Rainwater collection systems, well drilling, advanced filtration technologies – these are not luxuries, they are necessities.

Amos 9:13-15 foretells a time of restoration, when Yahuah will plant His people in their own land, and they will never again be uprooted. But this restoration requires preparation. It demands that we take responsibility for our own well-being, that we embrace the principles of stewardship, and that we rely on Yahuah’s provision rather than the fickle promises of Babylon and Edom.

A Covenant Call to Action

Let the qodeshim of Yisrael heed this call. Invest in water filtration systems. Learn about sustainable water management. Share knowledge and resources within your communities. Become a wellspring in the wilderness, a beacon of resilience in a world consumed by chaos.

Do not be deceived by the illusion of control peddled by those who seek to exploit us. Yahuah alone is sovereign. Yahuah alone is worthy of our trust. Let us prepare ourselves, not for a comfortable escape, but for a courageous stand. Let us embrace the path of restoration, and walk in the light of His truth. This is not merely about survival; it is about fulfilling our covenant obligations, and becoming a light unto the nations.
