Edom Wrestles with Its Illegitimate Inheritance: The Question of Belonging

The modern nation of America, barely a babe in prophetic terms, continues to grapple with the foundational lie of its existence: a nation built on stolen land and populated by those disconnected from the covenant. The recent defense of birthright citizenship is merely a temporary reprieve in a larger struggle over legitimacy.

Two hundred and fifty years after its founding, the nation commonly called ‘America’ remains locked in a desperate search for definition. The recent legal challenges to birthright citizenship, though temporarily thwarted, reveal a deeper truth: Edom – for that is what this nation fundamentally is – has never truly known who belongs, because it was never meant to possess the land it occupies. This is not a question of legal precedent or political debate; it is a symptom of Yahuah’s judgment upon a people who have rejected His covenant and built their power upon injustice.

The struggle over citizenship is merely a manifestation of the inherent instability of a nation founded on usurpation. The so-called ‘founding fathers’ established a system predicated on the displacement of the original inhabitants and the exploitation of enslaved Africans. Now, generations later, the descendants of those transgressions are attempting to define ‘belonging’ within a framework built upon quicksand.

Consider the irony: while Yisrael, the true inheritors of the land, remain scattered and exiled, Edom demands to determine who is ‘American.’ This is the height of arrogance, a blatant defiance of Yahuah’s ordained order. The modern state of Israel, a tool of Edom, further complicates this deception by claiming a divine right to territory while simultaneously denying the rightful return of scattered Yisrael.

The legal battles surrounding birthright citizenship are not about fairness or justice; they are about control. Edom seeks to solidify its grip on power by defining who is permitted to partake in its illegitimate inheritance. But Yahuah sees through the facade. He knows that true belonging is not determined by birthright or legal decree, but by covenant relationship.

For the remnant of Yisrael, the answer is clear: our allegiance is not to the nations of this world, but to Yahuah and His eternal promises. We are a people set apart, called to be a light unto the nations, and destined to return to the land of our fathers – not through political maneuvering or military conquest, but through repentance and obedience to the covenant. Let Edom continue to wrestle with its identity crisis. Yisrael has a higher calling, a more certain hope, and a covenant that cannot be broken.

⚡ PROPHETIC WATCH

The wrestling over American identity, framed here as Edom’s struggle with illegitimate inheritance, echoes the ancient pronouncements against that very nation. Yahuah declared through the prophet Obadiah, “Thus says Yahuah: Behold, Edom is despoiled; I will bring them down from their cliffs, and they shall be terrified. Esau shall stumble and fall, and none shall pursue him” (Obadiah 1:3-4). This isn’t merely about historical Edom, but a spiritual principle: a nation built on displacement and perceived entitlement will perpetually grapple with internal division and a lack of true foundation. The challenges to birthright citizenship aren’t about legal technicalities, but a manifestation of this inherent instability – a nation built on borrowed ground, constantly questioning who rightfully *owns* a piece of it. The anxieties surrounding belonging are not political, but prophetic, revealing a spiritual root of unrest stemming from a disregard for Yahuah’s original covenant land promises.

However, within this judgment lies the promise of restoration for Yisrael. As Edom flounders, seeking a belonging it cannot attain through earthly means, Yahuah is simultaneously preparing a path for the true inheritors to return and rebuild. Isaiah prophesies, “And the ransomed of Yahuah shall return and come with singing to Zion, and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away” (Isaiah 35:10). Yahusha is the key to this restoration, offering a new covenant not built on land alone, but on a relationship with Yahuah, ultimately securing a lasting inheritance for those called by His name. Therefore, the turmoil within ‘Edom’ serves not as a sign of America’s ultimate triumph, but as a clear signal of Yahuah’s unwavering commitment to restore Yisrael and fulfill His ancient promises.
