The Broken Cisterns & The Living Waters

Hear the word of Yahuah, house of Yaacob! For too long, we have leaned upon the broken cisterns of the nations, trusting in systems designed not for our flourishing, but for our dependence. We have allowed the control of the most basic necessity – water – to fall into the hands of those who seek our diminishment, those who embody the spirit of Edom. This is not merely a matter of infrastructure or resource management; it is a spiritual failing, a forgetting of the covenant promises woven into the very fabric of our ancestral inheritance.

Consider the lament of Yeremyahu (2:13) – “For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns, such as broken cisterns that can hold no water.” These ‘broken cisterns’ represent the false gods and empty promises to which we turn, seeking security and sustenance outside of Yahuah’s provision.
