Hear this, house of Yaacob! Yahuah is stirring the slumbering heart of His covenant people. He is calling us to remember the weight of the shekel, the measure of righteousness, and the ancient pathways of economic sovereignty. For too long, we have entrusted our sustenance to the hands of Babylon, to the iron currency of Edom, and to systems built upon the shifting sands of deceit.
The Broken Covenant of Commerce
The nations clamor for control, building their empires on debt and usury. They offer convenience, but demand our allegiance. They promise security, yet deliver only dependence. This is not progress, Yisrael, but a subtle enslavement. Remember the words of Deuteronomy 28:12-15: “Yahuah will open to you His good treasure, the heavens to give the rain in its season and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. Yahuah will make you the head, and not the tail.”
We have become the tail, chasing after the crumbs of a broken system. We have allowed our fields to lie fallow, our artisans to forget their skills, and our merchants to trade in the currency of our enemies. This is a transgression against the covenant, a rejection of the abundance Yahuah promised.
Reclaiming Yahuah’s Timepiece
The recent disruptions in the global supply chains are not merely logistical failures. They are echoes of Eden, a consequence of turning away from Yahuah’s ordained rhythms. The nations operate on a fractured timepiece, chasing profits and ignoring the cycles of the land. But Yahuah’s calendar remains steadfast, a beacon of order in a world consumed by chaos.
We are entering a season of restoration, a time to rebuild our local economies, to establish networks of covenant commerce, and to trade in value, not debt. This requires a return to the principles of Deuteronomy 14:28-29: “Every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce in that year and lay it within your gates. And the Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow who are among you, shall come and eat and be satisfied, that Yahuah your Elohim may bless you in all the work of your hand.”
The Ancient Path of Mutual Support
This is not a call to isolation, but to interdependence. A network of qodeshim, supporting one another through honest trade and mutual aid. Imagine communities where skills are shared, resources are pooled, and wealth is circulated within the boundaries of righteousness. Consider the example of Yitzchak in Genesis 26:12-14: “So Yitzchak sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. And Yahuah blessed him, and he became rich, and he had possessions of flocks and herds and a great household.”
This prosperity was not born of speculation, but of diligent labor and Yahuah’s blessing. It was rooted in the land and sustained by covenant relationship.
The Shekel as a Standard
Let the shekel become more than a currency. Let it be a symbol of our commitment to Yahuah’s law, a standard of integrity in all our dealings. Let us create alternative systems, built on trust and transparency, outside the reach of Babylon’s control.
This is not a simple task. It will require courage, perseverance, and a willingness to sacrifice. But Yahuah promises to reward those who diligently seek Him. He will open the storehouses of heaven and pour out His blessing upon those who rebuild His kingdom, one shekel, one skill, one covenant relationship at a time.
Remember Amos 9:14: “I will restore the fortunes of My people Yisrael, and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and dwell in them; they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, they shall also make gardens and eat their fruit.” This restoration is not merely physical, but spiritual and economic. It is a return to the abundance Yahuah intended for His covenant people. Awake, Yisrael! The time to rebuild is now.
