Hear this, O Yisrael. The stones are speaking, and the dust remembers. Yahuah has not forgotten His covenants, nor has He overlooked the ancient hatreds that fester in the hearts of nations. We watch as the signs align, as the scroll of prophecy unfolds before our eyes. Today, we turn our gaze toward the land of Turkey, a nation poised at a critical juncture, a nation steeped in the legacy of empires, and a key player in the unfolding judgments upon Edom.
The Echo of Empires
Turkey, the successor to the Ottoman Empire, stirs once more. For centuries, the Ottomans held sway over much of the ancient world, a power built on conquest and sustained by a relentless ambition. Their reach extended across the lands promised to Yaacob, a shadow cast over the inheritance of Yisrael. Understand this: empires rise and fall according to Yahuah’s decree (Daniel 2:21). The Ottoman collapse was not an accident of history, but a dismantling orchestrated by the Most High, preparing the way for the restoration of His people.
Yet, the spirit of Ottoman power does not simply vanish. It slumbers, then awakens, seeking to reclaim its former glory. We witness now a resurgence of national pride, a deliberate attempt to project influence across the region, and a growing alignment with those who oppose Zion. This is not merely political maneuvering; it is a spiritual alignment, a reawakening of ancient animosities.
Edom’s Shadow Lengthens
Consider the geography. Turkey borders nations historically inhabited by Edomites—those who have, throughout our history, risen up against Yisrael in every generation. Obadiah proclaims a judgment upon Edom for its pride, its cruelty, and its relentless hostility (Obadiah 1:10-14). This judgment is not suspended; it is actively unfolding.
Turkey, through its policies and alliances, is becoming a haven for those who carry the Edomite spirit. They offer refuge, support, and a platform for those who seek to undermine the security of Yisrael. This is not accidental. It is a deliberate strategy, a subtle but dangerous escalation of the conflict. Remember the words of Isaiah: “The burden of Edom.” (Isaiah 34:1). The weight of that burden is now being felt.
The Wellsprings Stir
But even within judgment, Yahuah provides a path for restoration. The return of the exiled, the rebuilding of the land, the revival of the ancient ways—these are not mere historical footnotes. They are the fulfillment of prophecy (Ezekiel 36:24-28). The wellsprings of return are flowing, and Yisrael is being gathered from the four corners of the earth.
However, this restoration is not occurring in a vacuum. It is happening amidst opposition, amidst conflict, amidst the rising tide of Edomite hostility. The nations will test Yahuah’s covenant, attempting to thwart His purposes. But Yahuah will not be deterred. He will use even the instruments of judgment to accomplish His will.
A Gate and a Flood
Turkey stands as a gate, a strategic point through which the forces of opposition can flow. It is a conduit for Edomite influence, a staging ground for those who seek to disrupt the peace. But it is also a point of vulnerability. Yahuah can turn the strength of the wicked against themselves (Proverbs 16:4).
The flood of Edomite hostility will continue to rise, but it will not overwhelm Yisrael. Yahuah has promised to protect His people, to defend His land, and to fulfill His covenants. The closing of the 70th week draws nearer (Daniel 9:24-27), and the time of Yaacob’s trouble is upon us. Prepare yourselves, Yisrael. Strengthen your hearts, and hold fast to the truth. The shofar is sounding, and the hour is at hand.
