The Burden of Jerusalem

Hear the word of Yahuah concerning Yisrael, as it is written in Zechariah 12:1-3: “Thus says Yahuah, who stretches forth the heavens and lays the foundation of the earth, who forms the spirit of man within him: ‘Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling to all the peoples of the earth; and it shall be that when they lay their hands on her, all the nations will groan. For thus says Yahuah of hosts: ‘Every nation that does not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King Yahuah of hosts shall have no rain. And if any people will not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King Yahuah of hosts, on them also the plague will come.’”

These are not idle words, beloved of Yisrael. These are the pronouncements of the Most High concerning the City of His covenant, the place where He has set His Name. The reports filtering in from the nations – the escalations, the delays, the plagues – are not random occurrences. They are the echoes of this very decree, the rumblings of a divine judgment being poured out upon those who seek to burden Zio
