The Broken Cisterns of Edom

The reports cascade in, do they not? Edom’s courts shielding the corrupt, silencing the call to prayer, birthing bitter fruit in their healthcare systems, and spilling blood in Damascus. These are not isolated incidents. These are the death throes of a dying kingdom, grasping at power even as Yahuah’s hand is upon it for judgment. Obadiah speaks plainly: “Thus says Yahuah concerning Edom: ‘Behold, I will make you small among the nations; you shall be greatly despised. Your own heart shall deceive you, for you have become arrogant, dwelling in the clefts of the rock, saying, “Who shall bring me down to the ground?”’" (Obadiah 1:2-3).

Edom, in its modern iterations, believes itself untouchable. It builds its empires on shifting sands, on systems designed to deceive and control. And chief among these systems is its education – a carefully constructed apparatus to sever the children of Yisrael from their inheritance, to replace the covenant with the philosophies of men.
