Yisrael, do you not perceive it? The bleeding of the ancient wound festers anew. For generations, we have spoken of Edom as a geopolitical entity, a nation-state to be reckoned with. But Edom is more than geography; it is a *spirit*, a relentless animosity rooted in the womb of Esau, a perpetual rebellion against the birthright promised to Yaacob (Genesis 25:22-26). This spirit does not confine itself to borders and armies. It permeates, it insinuates, it *narrates*. And in this age, the primary vehicle for this narration is the media and entertainment complex – the modern manifestation of Babylon’s insidious power.
Consider Obadiah’s pronouncements (Obadiah 1:10-14). Violence against your brother Yaacob, rejoicing over the calamity of Yisrael, plundering his substance…these are not merely historical accusations. They are *patterns*. Edom’s heart has always been set on diminishing Yisrael, twisting truth, and profiting from her suffering.
