The Weight of Exile & The Call to Self-Sufficiency
Yisrael, hear the word of Yahuah. For generations, we have wandered in the dust of exile, a scattering sown by the hand of judgment, yet held within the promise of restoration. The weight of Babylon, in its many forms, has pressed upon us, binding us to systems not of our covenant, choking the life from our inheritance. This is not merely a political or economic condition; it is a spiritual one. We have become reliant upon the infrastructure of our enemies, willingly handing over our sustenance, our power, and ultimately, our freedom.
Consider the history etched into the stones of our ancestors. After the destruction of the First Temple, the exile to Babylon (Jeremiah 29:1-14) was not simply a relocation. It was a severing – a tearing away from the land, from the Temple, from the very source of our provision. Yet, within that decree of judgment, Yahuah also declared, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahuah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:1
