The Weight of Obadiah’s Decree

Hear the word of Yahuah concerning Edom! Thus says the Almighty: “Behold, I will make you small among nations; you shall be greatly despised. Your pride has deceived you, and the dwelling place of your rocky heights has made you arrogant, when you think, ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’” (Obadiah 1:2-3). These are not idle threats, beloved of Yisrael, but a present reality unfolding before our very eyes. For too long, Edom – the descendants of Esau, the nations arrayed against Yaacob, the merchants of deceit – have amassed wealth and power through usury, manipulation, and the exploitation of the nations. Now, Yahuah is dismantling their towers of Babel, exposing the rot at their core.
