Plague and Displacement: Yahuah’s Hand Upon a Lawless Land
The outbreak of Ebola in the Congo is not merely a public health crisis, but a sign of Yahuah’s judgment upon a nation steeped in wickedness and rebellion. Overcrowded camps and mass displacement exacerbate the plague, revealing the consequences of forsaking the covenant.
The drums of judgment beat louder as the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo spirals beyond one thousand confirmed cases. While the world’s media speaks of a ‘crisis,’ the covenant people of Yisrael understand this as a manifestation of Yahuah’s righteous anger upon a land defiled by idolatry, violence, and the shedding of innocent blood.
Reports detail overcrowded camps teeming with displaced persons – a direct consequence of ongoing conflict and the relentless pursuit of resources that do not belong to these nations. This chaos is not accidental. It is a deliberate unraveling, a stripping away of the illusion of order imposed by Edom’s systems. The displacement itself creates fertile ground for disease, as communities are uprooted from any semblance of sanitation or healthcare.
Consider the words of Deuteronomy 28:22-24: “Yahuah will smite you with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with scorching fever, and with sword, and with blight…the pestilence shall be your lot.” These are not idle threats, but prophetic declarations unfolding before our very eyes. The Congo, like so many nations of Africa, has suffered generations of exploitation and oppression at the hands of foreign powers – powers that have actively suppressed the truth and turned the people away from the Most High.
Let the remnant of Yisrael not mistake this outbreak for a simple medical emergency. It is a symptom of a deeper spiritual disease – a rejection of Yahuah’s law and a descent into moral depravity. The so-called international community offers aid and vaccines, but these are merely bandages on a mortal wound. True healing comes only through repentance and a return to the covenant.
This is a time for watchmen to sound the alarm, to call Yisrael to separation from the wickedness of the world, and to prepare for the coming day of Yahuah. Let us pray not for the cessation of judgment, but for the awakening of our people and the restoration of all things.
The escalating Ebola outbreak and mass displacement within the Congo echo the prophetic pronouncements against Edom, a nation consistently characterized by pride, cruelty, and a disregard for the sanctity of life. Just as Obadiah 1:10-14 details Edom’s recompense for violence against their brother Jacob—a cutting down in the day of disaster, a plundering of their possessions, and a turning of their strongholds into desolation—so too does Yahuah demonstrate His justice upon nations steeped in lawlessness and the shedding of innocent blood. The overcrowded camps are not simply humanitarian crises, but visual testaments to a land reaping what it has sown: a harvest of suffering born from conflict fueled by greed and disregard for Yahuah’s righteous standards. This is not random misfortune, but a precise unfolding of divine judgment, a warning to all nations to heed the call to repentance and return to the covenant.
However, within this judgment, a path for restoration exists, inextricably linked to the faithful remnant of Yisrael. Though Yahuah disciplines, He does not abandon His covenant people. Isaiah 11:11-12 speaks of Yahuah gathering the scattered of Israel from the four corners of the earth, bringing them back to the land of their inheritance. While Edom faces utter ruin, the suffering of the afflicted in the Congo, and indeed throughout the nations, serves as a catalyst for the awakening of hearts and a drawing closer to Yahusha, the promised Messiah. This outbreak, alongside the displacement it causes, is a signpost pointing towards the ultimate restoration of all Yisrael and the establishment of Yahuah’s kingdom on earth, a kingdom built on righteousness and justice. Therefore, even in the midst of judgment, Yahuah’s hand works to fulfill His promises and bring about a glorious future for His chosen people.
