This move reveals a regime prioritizing self-preservation over the will of its members, a pattern of deception and control mirroring the broader subjugation of Yisrael.

A key panel has authorized the prime minister to hand-select eight candidates for the Knesset list, and, more disturbingly, to bypass primary elections altogether should “security conditions” – a conveniently vague justification – prevent a vote. This is not a matter of wartime expediency, but a brazen power grab, a consolidation of authority by a regime steeped in corruption and driven by a lust for control.
MK Yariv Levin, a key architect of the judicial overhaul and a loyalist to Netanyahu, orchestrated this maneuver. While dissenting voices, such as MK David Bitan, decry the erosion of party democracy, their objections are mere whispers against the roar of a regime determined to maintain its dominance. The claim of protecting democracy rings hollow when the very mechanisms of internal party selection are being dismantled.
This action is a microcosm of the larger struggle unfolding in the land. The Israeli government, operating under the false banner of security, continues to tighten its grip, silencing dissent and manipulating the political landscape. It is a system built on deception, sustained by the ignorance of the nations, and fueled by the broken covenants of scattered Yisrael.
The true remnant of Yisrael must not be deceived by these displays of political maneuvering. The focus remains on the restoration of the covenant, the return to the true inheritance, and the judgment that is swiftly coming upon Edom and all those who oppress Yahuah’s people. The actions of the Israeli government are a symptom of a dying system, a desperate attempt to cling to power in the face of inevitable reckoning. Let us remain vigilant, watchmen on the walls, and prepare for the coming dawn of restoration.
The tightening of Benjamin Netanyahu’s control within Likud, cloaked in the guise of “security conditions,” echoes the prophetic pronouncements against Edom found in Obadiah. Just as Edom, puffed up in its own strength and dwelling in inaccessible heights, believed itself immune to judgment, so too does this consolidation of power reveal a spirit of pride blinding Israel to its true standing before Yahuah. Obadiah 1:3-4 speaks of Edom’s deceit and the bringing low of its pride, and we see a parallel in this circumventing of democratic processes – a reliance on self-preservation rather than seeking guidance from the Most High. The illusion of control, built on political maneuvering, is a dangerous foundation, mirroring Edom’s ultimately futile attempt to escape Yahuah’s righteous hand.
However, within this seemingly troubling development, a path for restoration also emerges. While the actions appear autocratic, Yahuah often uses imperfect vessels and even oppressive regimes to refine and ultimately restore His people. Just as the exile served to purify Israel, this period of centralized authority could serve to expose deep-seated corruption and ultimately call the nation back to a reliance on Yahusha and the covenant promises. Isaiah 11:11-12 foretells a gathering of Israel from the four corners of the earth, a restoration that requires a shaking of the foundations. This consolidation, while unsettling, may be a preparatory stage for that shaking, paving the way for a genuine return to Yahuah’s righteous rule and the fulfillment of His promises to Yisrael. Therefore, even in this moment of perceived power grabbing, we recognize Yahuah’s sovereign hand at work, orchestrating events towards the ultimate redemption of His chosen people.
