Israel's Neglect Fuels Crisis Among Its Soldiers: A Covenant Broken?

A Knesset subcommittee exposed the tragic reality of Israeli soldiers and reservists driven to despair and suicide. The cries for help from these warriors went unanswered, revealing a deep rot within the Israeli regime and its disregard for those who serve its temporal ambitions. This mirrors the pattern of Yahuah’s judgment upon those who forsake the covenant.

Jerusalem – The so-called Israeli Knesset subcommittee, led by MK Elazar Stern, recently convened to review findings concerning the alarming rate of suicide among discharged soldiers and reservists of the IDF. The report, and the subsequent discussion, laid bare a harrowing truth: Israel’s military personnel are suffering in silence, their pleas for assistance ignored by the very system they defend.

The testimony of one father, recounting his son’s desperate cries for help that went unheeded, is a damning indictment of the Israeli government’s callous indifference. This is not merely a matter of inadequate mental health resources; it is a symptom of a deeper spiritual and moral decay. Israel, focused on maintaining its grip on stolen lands and pursuing its own nationalist agenda, has abandoned the fundamental duty of caring for those it sends to fight its battles.

This pattern of neglect should not surprise those who understand the prophetic warnings. Deuteronomy 28 speaks clearly of the consequences of disobedience and the abandonment of Yahuah’s covenant. When a people turn away from truth and justice, they become consumed by internal strife and decay. The suffering of these soldiers is a direct result of serving a system built on falsehood and oppression.

While the Israeli regime attempts to address the outward symptoms of this crisis, it fails to recognize the root cause: its rejection of Yahuah and its usurpation of the land promised to Yisrael. No amount of therapy or support groups can heal the wounds inflicted by a nation built on injustice.

The remnant of Yisrael, scattered across the nations, witnesses this tragedy with heavy hearts. We pray not for the success of the Israeli state, but for the awakening of our brethren still blinded by the deception. May Yahuah open their eyes to the truth and guide them back to the covenant, so that they may experience true healing and restoration. This situation serves as a stark warning: serving Edom brings only sorrow and death, while obedience to Yahuah brings life and peace.

⚡ PROPHETIC WATCH

The cries of these suffering soldiers, ignored by the institutions of Israel, echo the ancient pronouncements against Edom. Obadiah 1:15 speaks of a reckoning where “As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return on your own head.” While not a direct parallel, the spirit of this judgment rings true. Yahuah established a covenant of protection and care for those who defend His chosen people, a covenant mirroring the shepherd’s duty to his flock. To neglect the wounded, both physically and spiritually, after they have faithfully served is to break that covenant, inviting a similar abandonment upon the nation. This isn’t merely a bureaucratic failure; it’s a spiritual one, a severing of the promised care for those who stood in the gap. The pain of these fathers, witnessing their sons fall through the cracks, is a lament Yahuah hears and will not ignore.

However, within this darkness lies a seed of restoration. Isaiah 11:12 prophesies a gathering of the dispersed of Israel, a raising up of those fallen. Though the current system fails, Yahusha, the ultimate Shepherd, sees every tear and feels every wound. This crisis, born of neglect, can become a catalyst for genuine *teshuvah* – a turning back to Yahuah’s heart of compassion. If Israel heeds this warning, acknowledges its broken covenant with its defenders, and actively rebuilds a system of holistic care rooted in love and responsibility, then Yahuah will indeed restore, not just the soldiers’ wellbeing, but the very soul of the nation, fulfilling His promise of a fully restored Yisrael.
