Consider the fate of Edom, as detailed in Obadiah 1:15-18 – “As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return on your head. As you drank on my holy mountain, so all the nations will drink continually; they will drink and drink and be as if they had never existed. But on Mount Zion will be deliverance, and it will be holy, and the house of Jacob will possess their inheritance.” Israel’s persistent aggression and disregard for the boundaries established by Yahuah, mirroring the pride and violence of Edom, invites a similar reckoning. Yahusha prophesied in Matthew 24:30-31, “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the earth to the other.” The shaking of nations, even through conflict, serves to sift the true Yisrael from those who merely bear the name. This present trial is a crucible, refining those who earnestly seek Yahuah and preparing them for the ultimate redemption and gathering of His elect, fulfilling the promises made to Abraham and establishing a righteous kingdom on earth. Therefore, despite the immediate appearance of wrath, this event ultimately points toward the sovereign hand of Yahuah orchestrating the restoration of His people and the fulfillment of His eternal purposes.
