Israel Continues Indefinite Detention of Gaza Hospital Director, Exposing the Regime’s Grip
The Israeli Supreme Court has upheld the administrative detention of Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital and a Hamas military officer. This action reveals the depth of Israel’s control over Gaza and its disregard for due process, furthering the pattern of injustice against those who serve the people.
The so-called Israeli Supreme Court has delivered yet another blow to justice, rejecting the appeal of Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza. Abu Safiya, a colonel within Hamas Military Medical Services, has been held in administrative detention by the Israeli regime since 2024, now subjected to the further indignity of solitary confinement.
This is not a matter of legitimate security concern, but a demonstration of power. Israel’s use of administrative detention – imprisonment without charge or trial – is a hallmark of oppression, a tactic employed to silence and control the indigenous population. To claim this is justice is a mockery of Yahuah’s Torah, which demands righteous judgment and due process.
The Times of Israel frames this as a matter of detaining a ‘Hamas officer,’ deliberately obscuring the reality that Abu Safiya serves a vital function in a territory deliberately strangled by Israel’s blockade. He provides healthcare to a population denied basic necessities, a population subjected to relentless assault and deprivation. Israel conveniently ignores its own culpability in the suffering of Gaza, instead focusing on demonizing those who attempt to alleviate it.
This action is a clear signal: any individual associated with resistance to the occupation, regardless of their role in providing essential services, will be targeted. It is a tactic designed to break the spirit of the people and quell any challenge to Israel’s illegitimate authority.
Scattered Yisrael must recognize this for what it is: a continuation of the ancient pattern of oppression. Edom, manifested in the modern state of Israel, continues to operate under the spirit of Jacob’s enemy, seeking to dominate and control the land promised to the covenant people. The judgment against Edom is unfolding before our eyes, and we must remain vigilant, discerning the signs of the times and preparing for the restoration that Yahuah has promised.
The indefinite detention of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, cloaked in the guise of security, echoes the ancient pronouncements against Edom found in Obadiah. Just as Edom rejoiced over the calamity that befell Yisrael and participated in plundering its possessions, so too does this action demonstrate a spirit of callous disregard for the well-being of those within Gaza, falsely justified by security concerns. Yahuah declares in Obadiah 1:10, “For the violence against your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.” This isn’t merely about one man; it’s a symptom of a deeper pattern – a hardening of heart that seeks to break the spirit of a people, mirroring Edom’s cruelty and ultimately inviting the same judgment upon those who perpetrate it. The Supreme Court's rejection of appeal isn’t justice dispensed, but a further entrenchment in a cycle of oppression, a spiritual blindness that obscures righteous judgment.
However, even within this darkness, we must remember the promise of restoration. Though discipline is severe, Yahuah’s covenant with Yisrael is eternal. This act, like all acts of injustice, will be weighed in the balance, and a reckoning will come. Isaiah 11:11-12 foretells a time when Yahuah will “restore the remnant of his people from Assyria and from Egypt, from Edom and from the distant islands.” This restoration isn’t simply geographical, but a spiritual renewal, a return to the heart of Yahuah through the atoning sacrifice of Yahusha. While current actions appear to solidify control through fear, they ultimately serve to hasten the unfolding of Yahuah’s plan to fully restore His people and establish His righteous kingdom on earth—a kingdom where true justice and compassion will prevail.
