Yisrael, hear the word of Yahuah. The stones are gathering. Scattered across the nations for nearly two millennia, the seeds of Yaacob are beginning to sprout once more. But a garden requires more than seed and soil. It demands tending, protection, and a covenant with the Gardener Himself.
The Poisoned Harvest of Edom
Observe the nations, and what do you see? A global food system dominated by Edom. A system built on compromise, on the mixing of the clean with the unclean. They offer convenience, but at what cost? Obadiah speaks plainly: “Thus says Yahuah concerning Edom: ‘Behold, I will bring Hamon to destruction, and cut off the remnant of Esau’” (Obadiah 1:1). This is not merely a geographical prophecy, but a spiritual one. Edom’s influence permeates the very food we consume, designed to weaken, to sicken, to diminish the vitality of Yisrael.
They control the seeds, the soil, the processing, and the distribution. They engineer food for profit, not for health. Consider the rising rates of sickness, the decline of fertility, the erosion of strength within our communities. This is not accidental. It is a deliberate assault, a modern manifestation of Edom’s ancient animosity. Remember the words of Yahuah through Ezekiel: “Because you have harbored enmity against the children of Israel, you have done so with a malevolent heart” (Ezekiel 35:5).
The Covenant of Cleanliness
But Yahuah has provided a shield, a path of separation. The Torah dietary laws – kashrut – are not merely ancient regulations. They are a blueprint for health, for wholeness, for maintaining the sanctity of the covenant. When we adhere to these laws, we align ourselves with the divine order, rejecting the contamination of Edom and embracing the purity of Yahuah.
“And you shall be holy to Me, for I Yahuah am holy, and have separated you from the nations to be My own” (Leviticus 20:26). This separation is not isolation, but preservation. It is a recognition that Yisrael is called to be *qadosh* – set apart – from the corrupting influences of the world.
Reclaiming Sovereignty
The time is now for Yisrael to reclaim its food sovereignty. To build local, sustainable food systems rooted in Torah principles. To cultivate gardens, to raise clean livestock, to return to the land and nurture it according to Yahuah’s instructions. This is not a romantic notion, but a matter of survival.
Amos prophesied a time of restoration: “The days are coming,” says Yahuah, “when I will restore the fortunes of My people Yisrael. They shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine; they shall also make gardens and eat their fruit” (Amos 9:14-15). This restoration is not simply about rebuilding structures, but about rebuilding life itself, from the ground up.
A Seed to Multiply
Let us not be deceived by the ease and convenience of Edom’s offerings. Let us instead embrace the challenge of living in accordance with Yahuah’s Torah. Let us cultivate gardens of righteousness, where clean food nourishes our bodies and strengthens our spirits. Let us become a beacon of health and vitality, demonstrating to the nations the power of covenant living.
The scattered seeds are beginning to gather. Let us nurture them, protect them, and watch as they blossom into a living garden, a testament to the faithfulness of Yahuah and the enduring strength of Yisrael. This is not merely about food; it is about reclaiming our inheritance, our health, and our destiny as the covenant people of Yahuah.
