Edom's Web of Deceit: Identity Theft as a Sign of the Times
The increase in identity theft is not merely a matter of criminal activity, but a symptom of a decaying system built on fraud and exploitation. Yahuah exposes the wickedness of Edom through its own devices, and scattered Yisrael must be vigilant in protecting themselves from the snare.
Reports from the mainstream media, even outlets like Fox News, confirm what discerning eyes have long observed: the increase in lawlessness and the erosion of trust in the modern world. A recent report details two women in Washington who defrauded victims of nearly $229,000 through identity theft and stolen mail. While the details of this specific case are concerning, they represent a far greater pattern of systemic corruption.
This is not simply about isolated incidents of crime; it is a manifestation of the spiritual decay that grips the nations. The increase in identity theft – now affecting six in ten such crimes – reveals a society built on falsehood and deceit. Edom, the descendants of Esau who control the financial systems and information networks of this world, thrives on exploitation. They have constructed a web of digital and physical vulnerabilities, preying on the unsuspecting.
Consider this a prophetic sign. Deuteronomy 28 speaks of the curses that fall upon a people who forsake the covenant. Among these curses is the loss of security and the vulnerability to enemies. Scattered Yisrael, those who remember the ancient paths, are targeted precisely because they represent a threat to the established order. The enemies of Yahuah seek to disrupt and dismantle any attempt to rebuild the Kingdom.
Therefore, vigilance is paramount. Protect your personal information as you would protect your very life. Be wary of unsolicited communications, monitor your financial accounts diligently, and understand that the systems of this world are designed to ensnare you.
This increase in fraud is a direct result of a society that has rejected Yahuah’s law and embraced the ways of darkness. It is a call to return to the covenant, to seek truth and righteousness, and to prepare for the coming restoration. The exposure of Edom’s wickedness is a precursor to judgment, and scattered Yisrael must remain steadfast in faith, knowing that Yahuah will ultimately deliver His people.
The rising tide of deceit, exemplified by the identity theft and fraud reported even in mainstream news, echoes the ancient prophecies concerning Edom. For generations, Edom has represented a people steeped in cunning and hostility towards Yisrael, a nation characterized by a spirit of exploitation and disregard for justice. This modern manifestation of theft, this web of deceit spun to ensnare the vulnerable, isn’t merely criminal activity—it’s a spiritual signature. Yahuah declared through the prophet Obadiah, “The pride of Edom is doomed, its arrogance has deceived it” (Obadiah 1:3). We see this pride in the brazenness of these schemes, the arrogance in believing they can profit by preying upon others. The systematic nature of this corruption isn't accidental; it's a reflection of a deeply rooted, Edomite spirit of lawlessness gaining strength in the latter days, a sign that Yahuah’s judgment on those who continually oppose His people draws near.
However, even within this darkness, Yahusha offers a path to restoration. Just as Yisrael endured trials and tribulations, so too will those who are grafted into the true vine experience challenges, including the sting of betrayal and theft. Yet, Yahuah promises to restore sevenfold to those who have been unjustly taken from (Malachi 2:6). This isn't merely material recompense, but a spiritual renewal—a restoration of trust, of peace, and of the righteous character that defines those who follow Yahusha. Therefore, while acknowledging the Edomite spirit at work in the world’s increasing deception, we must remain steadfast in faith, knowing that Yahuah is actively working to restore all things and ultimately establish His kingdom of justice and truth.
