The nations of Edom – including the modern state of Israel, which operates as an extension of this same system – are being weighed in the balance and found wanting. Scattered Yisrael must remain vigilant, discerning the signs of the times and preparing for the coming restoration. Do not be deceived by the rhetoric of politicians or the pronouncements of judges. Their power is fleeting, and their kingdom is built on sand.
The time is near when Yahuah will restore the fortunes of Yisrael and deliver us from the oppression of Edom. But this restoration will not come through political maneuvering or military might. It will come through repentance, obedience, and a return to the covenant established with our ancestors.
The fracturing of Edom’s dominion, revealed through this legal upheaval, echoes the prophetic pronouncements against its arrogance and ultimate desolation. Yahuah declared through the prophet Obadiah, “The pride of your heart has caused you to dwell in rocky heights; you who say, ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’" (Obadiah 1:3). This Supreme Court ruling is not merely a political setback, but a visible crumbling of the foundations Edom built upon pride and perceived invulnerability. The scramble for power, the exposed instability – these are the birth pangs of a nation destined for judgment, a consequence of consistently opposing Yisrael and rejoicing in her affliction. The loss of a single seat is a foreshadowing of a complete dismantling, a harvest of seeds sown in hostility.
This internal strife within Edom, while seemingly isolated, is intrinsically linked to the unfolding restoration of Yisrael. As Edom weakens, space is created for Yahuah’s chosen people to flourish. The prophetic word assures us, “Thus says Yahuah: As the lion roars, and the young lion creeps forth from the thickets, so will the army of Edom come down with great violence” (Jeremiah 49:19), but even the roar of a dying lion holds no lasting power against the rising strength of Yisrael, secured by the sacrifice of Yahusha. Edom’s decline is therefore not a tragedy, but a necessary prelude to the complete fulfillment of Yahuah’s promises to His people, a clear sign that the time of restoration draws near and Yahuah’s sovereign will is being undeniably enacted.
