For generations, this nation has built its wealth upon injustice and exploited the nations, mirroring the historical wickedness of Edom described in Obadiah 1:10-11: “For the violence against your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be utterly destroyed. In the day that you stood on the other side, in the day that strangers carried away his possessions, and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots over Yerushalayim, even you shall be like them.” This stagflation, this crippling of their system, is Yahuah stripping away their deceptive power, revealing the hollowness beneath the facade of prosperity. It’s a judgment enacted not through sudden cataclysm, but a slow, agonizing erosion of their dominance, a withering of the “beast” system as it chokes on its own greed.
Simultaneously, as Edom falters, Yahuah prepares the way for the true inheritance of Yisrael to flourish. Though trials will undoubtedly come for the faithful, the weakening of this oppressive force clears space for the righteous to rise and establish a society founded on justice and obedience to Yahusha. Isaiah 11:11-12 foretells this restoration: “It shall happen in that day that the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will seek Him and His resting place will be glorious. And it will be in that day that they bring the remnant of My people from Assyria and those from Egypt, and gather them together; they will pass through Edom and the land of Moab, and the children of Ammon will be with them.” The economic ruin of Edom isn’t an end, but a prelude—a clearing of the path for Yahuah to fulfill His promises of restoration and establish His kingdom on earth.
