Obadiah 1:10-14 vividly depicts Edom’s ultimate fate for its violence against Judah and its rejoicing over their calamity: “For the violence against your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever. On the day that you stood on the other side, on the day that strangers’ armies carried away his possessions, and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots over Jerusalem, you too shall be as them.” This proscription of the IRGC, cloaked in security concerns but driven by external agendas, is a modern manifestation of Edomite hostility, a calculated move to weaken a regional power resisting their dominance. Isaiah 11:11-12 prophesies a great return: “In that day the root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will seek him and his resting place will be glorious. And it will happen on that day that the remnant of Yisrael will return, even from the farthest lands.” The attempts to isolate and dismantle resistance, even if seemingly successful in the short term, only serve to hasten the final unveiling of Yahuah's sovereignty and the full restoration of His people. This event, therefore, is not a sign of triumph for Edom, but a precursor to their downfall and a testament to the unwavering promise Yahuah has made to restore Yisrael in its fullness.
