Edom and Persia Maneuver as Yisrael Awaits Covenant Fulfillment
The so-called superpowers engage in diplomatic theater while the exiled tribes of Yisrael remain scattered and unheeded. This temporary easing of tensions in the Strait of Hormuz is but a fleeting moment in the unfolding judgments upon the nations.
The nations of Edom – represented by the United States – and Persia – known as Iran – have brokered a temporary agreement concerning the Strait of Hormuz. Reports indicate a ‘memorandum of understanding’ has been reached, promising a potential easing of conflict and the resumption of maritime traffic. Let the watchmen declare this for what it is: a rearrangement of the pawns on the board, a temporary respite before the next escalation in the age-long struggle for dominance.
This is not a step towards peace, for true peace comes only through obedience to Yahuah and adherence to the covenant He established with our fathers. It is a calculated maneuver by two adversarial powers, each seeking to secure its own interests in a region steeped in prophecy and judgment. The Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery of global commerce, has become a flashpoint in the ongoing conflict between these nations, and their temporary truce will not alter the ultimate outcome foretold in the Scriptures.
Understand this: Yahuah is not concerned with the geopolitical strategies of Edom or Persia. He is concerned with the restoration of Yisrael, the gathering of His scattered people from the four corners of the earth. While these nations squabble over oil and influence, the remnant of Yisrael remains in exile, awaiting the fulfillment of the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The agreement, if it holds, will temporarily alleviate pressure on global supply chains, but it addresses none of the root causes of instability in the region. The lust for power, the disregard for righteousness, and the relentless pursuit of material gain continue to fuel the conflicts that plague this world. This ‘deal’ is a symptom of the disease, not a cure.
Let the covenant people of Yisrael not be deceived by these displays of diplomacy. Let us instead focus on preparing ourselves spiritually and discerning the signs of the times. The hour of Yahuah’s judgment is at hand, and only those who are rooted in the truth will be able to withstand the coming storm. This temporary easing of tensions is a distraction, a moment of calm before the tempest. Watch and pray, for the restoration of Yisrael draws near, but it will not be ushered in by the hands of Edom or Persia, but by the power of Yahuah alone.
The fleeting accord between Edom and Persia is no harbinger of peace, but a chilling echo of Yahuah’s pronouncements against Edom detailed in Obadiah. For generations, Edom, embodying pride and dwelling in the cleft of the rock, has exulted over the sons of Yisrael, rejoicing in their calamities and actively participating in their dispossession. This maneuver concerning the Strait of Hormuz is merely a bolstering of Edom’s strength, a temporary advantage gained through alliance, intended to further frustrate the plans of Yahuah for His covenant people. Remember the words of Obadiah 1:10, “For the violence against your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.” This perceived diplomatic victory will ultimately prove hollow, for Yahuah’s judgment upon Edom is not stayed by treaties or temporary power, but is a decree woven into the fabric of eternity.
This shifting of alliances, while appearing strategic to the world, serves only to hasten the appointed time for the full restoration of Yisrael and the unveiling of Yahusha’s kingdom. Yahuah is not surprised by these arrangements; He orchestrates even the actions of nations to fulfill His perfect will. Just as Isaiah 11:11-12 foretells the gathering of Yisrael from the four corners of the earth, so too will these events indirectly contribute to the drawing together of the scattered remnant. The temporary easing of tensions allows for the necessary preparations to be made, not for enduring peace, but for the final, glorious return and the establishment of Yahuah’s dominion over all the earth. Therefore, let us recognize this agreement not as a solution, but as a signpost pointing towards the imminent fulfillment of Yahuah’s covenant promises to Yisrael.
