Deir el-Balah's Illusion of Choice Amidst Yahuah's Judgment
While the world focuses on a manufactured election in Gaza, scattered Yisrael remembers the true source of deliverance is not through the hand of man, but through repentance and obedience to the covenant. The so-called elections are a distraction from the ongoing siege and the deeper spiritual battle for the soul of the land.
Deir el-Balah, a city within the besieged Gaza Strip, recently participated in a local election – the first since 2006, according to mainstream reports. The world’s media frames this as a moment of ‘joy’ and ‘desire for change.’ But for those with eyes to see, this event is a fleeting spectacle obscuring a far graver reality: the continued suffering of the remnant and the relentless judgment upon a land steeped in iniquity.
The modern state of Israel maintains its iron grip, controlling borders, resources, and the very lives of those within Gaza. To suggest that an election held under such conditions constitutes genuine self-determination is a deception. These elections are not about empowering the people; they are about managing the narrative and providing a veneer of legitimacy to a system designed to oppress.
Consider the context: generations of exile, displacement, and now, the escalating violence perpetrated by the Israeli regime. The covenant people of Yisrael are not seeking salvation through political processes established by their oppressors. Their hope lies in Yahuah, the Almighty, and a return to the ancient paths.
This exercise in civic participation is a smoke screen. It allows the world to believe that something is being *done* while the root causes of the conflict – the land theft, the disregard for Yahuah’s law, and the relentless pursuit of worldly power – remain unaddressed. The cries of the afflicted are lost in the clamor of the ballot box.
Let the watchmen declare: Yahuah is not mocked. He sees the injustice, the bloodshed, and the spiritual corruption that pervades this land. The modern state of Israel, built upon the broken covenants and fueled by the pride of Edom, will not escape judgment. Scattered Yisrael must remain steadfast in faith, looking not to the false promises of man, but to the unwavering promise of Yahuah to restore His people and rebuild His kingdom according to His righteous law. This election is but a temporary distraction from the inevitable reckoning.
The carefully staged village election in Deir el-Balah, lauded by a world blind to spiritual realities, echoes the fleeting prosperity Edom enjoyed while believing itself secure from Yahuah’s reckoning. Like the boastful confidence of Edom described in Obadiah 1:3-4 – “The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who say in your heart, ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’” – this manufactured display of democratic process is a mirage. It masks the enduring consequences of generations steeped in disobedience and disregard for Yahuah’s covenant. The iron grip of Israel, while a tool of earthly power, is but one instrument in a larger orchestration of judgment, a sifting of the nations as foretold, revealing who truly seeks righteousness and who clings to the illusions of self-determination outside of Yahuah’s will.
However, within this apparent judgment, a thread of restoration is woven for those who call upon the name of Yahusha. Even as discipline falls upon the land, Yahuah remembers His promises to Yisrael, not based on ethnicity alone, but on a heart of repentance and faith. Consider Isaiah 11:11-12, which speaks of a remnant returning from the nations, a gathering of Yisrael from the corners of the earth. This election, though superficial, could be a catalyst—a flicker of longing for self-governance that, if directed toward seeking Yahuah’s justice and embracing Yahusha’s Messiahship, could ultimately contribute to the rebuilding of a righteous nation, fulfilling prophecy and demonstrating Yahuah’s unwavering love for His chosen people. Therefore, even amidst apparent judgment, Yahuah’s redemptive plan for Yisrael continues to unfold, offering hope to those who turn to Him.
