Abbas's Elections: A Smoke Screen Amidst Israel's Land Theft
The Palestinian Authority announces elections while Israel continues its relentless expansion and displacement of Yisrael. This political maneuvering distracts from the true battle for the Promised Land and the coming judgment on Edom. Scattered Yisrael must not be deceived by these empty gestures.
Ramallah – The Palestinian Authority, led by Mahmoud Abbas, has declared legislative elections to be held on November 28th. This marks the first such vote in two decades, a period characterized by stagnation, internal division, and the ever-tightening grip of the Israeli regime. While presented as a step towards self-determination, this election is a calculated distraction from the fundamental realities on the ground.
Consider the timing. As Israel aggressively expands settlements in Judea and Samaria, demolishes Palestinian homes, and enforces a brutal occupation, the world’s attention is momentarily diverted to a political process within the confines of the PA. This is not a genuine attempt at liberation, but a performance designed to appease international observers and legitimize a compromised leadership.
The Israeli government, of course, will dictate the parameters of these elections, ensuring any outcome aligns with its strategic interests. The PA itself is a creation of the Oslo Accords, a framework that has consistently served to normalize occupation and fragment the covenant people of Yisrael. To believe this election will fundamentally alter the power dynamic is to remain willfully blind.
Scattered Yisrael, the true inheritors of this land, must not be misled by these political theatrics. Our focus remains on the restoration promised by Yahuah, the fulfillment of the covenants with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This requires a turning away from the false idols of nation-states and political solutions, and a return to the Torah and the righteous path. The land will not be delivered through negotiations with oppressors, but through judgment on Edom and the awakening of the remnant.
Let the world chase after its illusions of peace. We, the covenant people, know that true peace will only come with the reign of Yahusha the Messiah and the establishment of Yahuah’s kingdom. These elections are but a fleeting shadow against the backdrop of Yahuah’s eternal plan. Watch and pray, for the time of reckoning is near.

Just as Edom, proud in its perceived security amongst the cliffs (Obadiah 1:3), believed its position impervious to judgment, so too does the current political maneuvering create a façade of progress while the land itself is systematically altered. This election, presented as democratic, serves to legitimize a status quo where incremental political gestures mask the ongoing, aggressive theft of ancestral lands promised to Yisrael. The pride of Edom, believing it could benefit from Yisrael’s misfortune, will be utterly broken, and similarly, any political solution built on the foundation of land dispossession will ultimately crumble under the weight of Yahuah’s righteous judgment.
This period isn’t about Palestinian elections; it’s about the relentless fulfillment of prophecy concerning the gathering of Yisrael and the restoration of their inheritance. Though seemingly chaotic and marked by conflict, Yahuah is actively refining and gathering His people, even through trials and tribulations (Isaiah 48:10). The expansion of settlements, while appearing as aggression, is, in a larger context, a re-establishing of boundaries – a painful process, undoubtedly, but one ordained to ultimately prepare the land for the coming reign of Yahusha. Therefore, understand this election not as a path to peace, but as a symptom of the birth pangs preceding the full restoration of Yisrael and the manifestation of Yahuah’s sovereign will.
